CONTROVERSIAL former bank boss Michael Fingleton is demanding a Dail apology for being described as a "gangster".
The retired Irish Nationwide chief executive and ex-Anglo Irish Bank chairman Sean FitzPatrick were both branded "gangsters" by a TD in a Dail debate. Fine Gael chief whip Paul Kehoe said the bankers were "two of the biggest gangsters ever involved in banking institutions".
The above mentioned and their colleagues are worse than criminals - as if it was simple criminality they should be behind bars already! but their accomplices are profession classes ! ie accountants , lawyers , jounalists etc etc
a very sorry tale ! & very unlikely we will ever get to the truth in full!
Political awareness, awakeness; gradually dumbing us & drowning emotions to the floor; numbing & feeling senseless.

U.S. charges billionaire Rajaratnam with record insider Trading
Scandal hits corporate role models IBM, McKinsey
Deals targeted in Galleon insider trading case
People charged in Galleon insider trading case
What they said: Quotes from the insider trading case
Billionaire hedge fund founder Raj Rajaratnam and executives from some of the most prestigious U.S. companies were charged on Friday with the largest hedge fund insider-trading scheme ever.
Investigators said they used court-approved telephone wire taps for the first time in a Wall Street insider trading case, sending shivers through the hedge fund industry which has traditionally picked up and shared trading tips to make big profits.
At the center of the case are Rajaratnam, his Galleon hedge fund and two executives from hedge fund New Castle, which was a unit of Bear Stearns Asset Management before Bears Stearns Cos collapsed in 2008, but is still in operation.
Three executives from major American companies IBM, top consulting firm McKinsey & Co and the venture capital arm of chip giant Intel Corp are also facing criminal charges.
"This is not a garden-variety insider trading case," Preet Bharara, the U.S. Attorney for Manhattan, said at a news conference. He said the scheme made more than $20 million in illegal profits over several years. here
One of the criminal complaints accuses Rajaratnam, 52, considered the richest Sri Lankan in the world, of conspiring with Intel Capital treasury department managing director Rajiv Goel and Anil Kumar, a director of McKinsey & Co. The alleged offenses took place over three years starting in January 2006.
Galleon had as much as $7 billion under management, the complaint said.
Early on Friday evening, a U.S. magistrate judge in New York said Rajaratnam may be released on a $100 million personal recognizance bond secured by $20 million in cash and property.
In a brief appearance, Rajaratnam sat in court with his arms folded. The judge restricted his travel to a radius of 110 miles from Manhattan and Rajaratnam, a citizen of both Sri Lanka and the United States, surrendered travel documents.
A prosecutor argued that Rajaratnam was a flight risk, but his lawyer Jim Walden said: "A court's going to learn there's a lot more to this case. There is no way that this man is going to flee."
A second criminal complaint accused three other people -- New Castle portfolio manager Danielle Chiesi, New Castle general partner Mark Kurland and Robert Moffat, a senior vice president in the IBM technology group -- of insider trading crimes and earning millions of dollars in illegal profits.
"It shows that we are targeting white-collar insider trading rings with the same powerful investigative techniques that have worked so successfully against the mob and drug cartels," Bharara said.
All six were charged with securities fraud and conspiracy in two criminal complaints filed in U.S. District Court in Manhattan. Kumar was permitted to be released on a $5 million bond, Kurland on a $3 million bond, and Moffat and Chiesi on a $2 million bond. In California, Goel posted $300,000 cash for bail.
The six were also charged in a separate civil complaint by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The SEC said the accused traded on insider information from 10 companies.

RBS, Lloyds Send ‘Shocking’ $4.4 Billion to Ireland
Royal Bank of Scotland Group Plc and Lloyds Banking Group Plc, rescued by British taxpayers last year, injected 3.03 billion euros ($4.4 billion) into their Irish units during the past 10 months amid rising real estate losses.
Records in Dublin’s Companies Registration Office show the two banks made a series of six payments, with the first in December and the most recent in August. RBS injected about 1.58 billion euros, while Lloyds sent 1.45 billion euros.
“The scale of that figure is quite shocking,” Brian Lucey, associate professor of finance at Trinity College Dublin, said in an interview. “They weren’t leaders in the Irish market. The figure just shows the level of clean-up needed.”
British banks invested in Irish real-estate developers at the height of the “Celtic Tiger” boom and are now writing down investments amid the worst property slump in western Europe. RBS, 70 percent government-controlled, and Lloyds, 43 percent taxpayer-owned, were bailed out by Chancellor of the Exchequer Alistair Darling with 37 billion pounds ($59 billion) of public money 12 months ago.
The Irish bailout’s sterling cost is 2.8 billion pounds, more than the 2.6 billion pounds spent by British taxpayers on military operations in Afghanistan last year, according to House of Commons Defence Committee figures. This year’s Afghan costs are forecast to be 3.5 billion pounds.
‘Hard to Understand’
“As an engaged shareholder, our priority is to protect and create value for the taxpayer,” a spokesman for U.K. Financial Investments, which manages the government’s bank shareholdings, said in an e-mailed statement today. “We will not intervene in operational management decisions,” he added.
“Many will find it hard to understand why British taxpayers are bailing out bad investments made in Ireland,” Vince Cable, economic spokesman for the opposition Liberal Democrat party, said in a statement. “This clearly shows that these banks are far from out of the woods.”
Under Prime Minister Gordon Brown’s “failed regulatory system, banks built up large exposures overseas on risky loans without putting up enough capital,” said Mark Hoban, an economic spokesman for the main opposition Conservative party, in an e-mailed statement. “Now those loans are turning sour, it is U.K. taxpayers who are picking up the bill.”
RBS spokeswoman Fiona MacRae did not comment on whether the bank planned to send further aid to its Irish unit. “Similar to other large international banking groups, we regularly transfer capital to and from our subsidiaries,” MacRae said in an e- mailed statement.
Property Collapse
Asked the same question on future aid, a Lloyds spokeswoman said it continued to provide capital and funding support “as we would do in the normal course of business and on an ongoing basis.”
Irish impaired assets deteriorated following the “collapse in liquidity in the Irish property markets,” Lloyds said in its half yearly earnings statement. About 14 percent of its Irish loan book was impaired at the half-year stage, the bank said.
In one case, RBS’s Ulster Bank division backed developer Sean Dunne, who paid a then-record price of 380 million euros for land in Dublin’s embassy district of Ballsbridge. His plans to build Ireland’s tallest skyscraper of 37 storeys on the site were blocked by municipal officials. The site’s value fell to no more than 100 million euros in March, the Irish Times reported at the time, citing unnamed property experts.
The CRO records show Ulster Bank Holdings (ROI) Ltd. has received four capital injections from RBS since February. Lloyds has provided its Bank of Scotland (Ireland) Ltd. unit with two payments since December.
Payments Surge
The banks’ payments to their Irish subsidiaries surged in the past 10 months. Earlier records show BoSI’s former owner, HBOS Plc, sent the unit a total of 538 million euros in the five years from 2003 to the end of 2007, according to CRO filings. HBOS was taken over by Lloyds in January. RBS injected a total of 1.01 billion euros into Ulster Bank in the seven years from 2002 to 2008.
RBS fell 2.4 percent to 51.7 pence at 12:03 p.m. in London trading. Lloyds dropped 1.9 percent to 101.75 pence.
Ulster Bank, which operates across the Republic and in Northern Ireland, has about 40 billion euros in mortgages and other property lending, while Bank of Scotland (Ireland) has about 23.5 billion euros, Bloxham Stockbrokers analyst Kevin McConnell wrote in a research note on Sept. 3.
Future Losses
House prices in Ireland have fallen 24 percent from their early 2007 peak levels, mortgage lender Irish Life & Permanent Plc said in a Sept. 28 report. Commercial property prices may drop 75 percent while development land values may slump 80 percent from their peak, Goodbody Stockbrokers said on Sept. 1.
U.S. banks have recognized about 60 percent of their expected losses, compared with 40 percent in both the euro area and the U.K., the International Monetary Fund said yesterday. Bank earnings will not be enough to offset future losses, the fund added. In the euro zone and U.K., “muted economic activity and rising unemployment are expected to push up loan losses.”
Ulster Bank warned of rising loan impairments for the rest of 2009 as it reported a nine-fold increase in bad loans and a first-half loss of 8 million euros on Aug. 5. The bank has cut 750 jobs across Ireland and closed three-quarters of its 60 First Active mortgage branches.
At the top of the property boom in Ireland in 2007, LLoyds’ Irish unit posted a pretax profit of 272 million euros, up 28 percent. In the same year, Ulster Bank profit rose 22 percent to 513 million pounds.
Bank of Scotland (Ireland) is the second-biggest holder of debt owed by Liam Carroll, a developer whose projects include the construction of Google Inc.’s European headquarters in Dublin. He’s failed three times to secure the protection of the courts for his companies, which owe 1.3 billion euros to banks.
Ireland’s government has propped up its two biggest lenders, Allied Irish Banks Plc and Bank of Ireland Plc with 3.5 billion euros each. The now-nationalized Anglo Irish Bank Corp. has received 4 billion euros in state aid.

Megrahi ! Suggestions of a Deal, please !
Libya's role ever since there was a coup back in the 60's has been about deals.
When we had theh IRA making deals through this centre what else was going. Like the reports in the late 80's and 90's that this specific route /flight was a mule run for certain criminal groups and that this explosion was part of a turf war!
Look at Colombia in the 80's they did far worse to protect their turf, blowing up entire justice systems with the judges inside!
Why we know this whole case is much bigger than one old man, the supposed terrorist, and now leaked FBI letters saying how bad the British has been . Various smokescreens have gone up, and the way the Libyans mentioned trade , is all part of an embarrassment game-
and sadly the Americans probably have much more to answer for then they pretend otherwise not to know about this flight and what the Libyans still stand for. It is more than amusing to see Blair defend the regime on or through a special CNN interview.
Any interest for truth or a real debate- probably not when Arms Drugs Terror and more lies is on the table

What is Crime ?
Obvious question but we all know that crime is a behaviour that breaks the Law. However is it so straightforward? What we mean by crime is highly contested.

Facebook /Deny / accept / what ! ? /
If you inform Americans that more than 3 million Vietnamese were killed by the American bombing campaign of North Vietnam and neighboring Cambodia and Laos (probably more like 4 million), nearly 90% of Americans will deny such a reality.
If you inform the average American that more than 1 million innocent Iraqis have died during the American invasion of Iraq (according to several reputable studies including one by the Lancet), nearly 90% will deny such a reality.
If you inform the average Brit that untold millions of nameless innocents died and even more suffered as a result of British colonialism, 90% will respond that it was all for the good of civilization (the white man's burden and all of that).
What is difference between such deniers and Holocaust deniers? The difference is. Germany and its allies have largely recognized the historical reality of the evil that they perpetrated on the rest of the world, and are in no danger or revisiting such evil on the rest of us.
The US and the UK continue to repeat again and again the evils of the past, continue to justify such evils in the name of some sort of global progress (civilizing the world, liberating the world, eliminating the terrorists
we have many dubious political activists out there! and a low calibre , as far as knowing their history!!

The Shawshank Redemption star, 72, is planning on wedding E'Dena Hines once he is divorced from his second wife Myrna - reports The National Enquirer.
Hines is the granddaughter of Freeman's first wife - and he and Myrna have raised her since she was a young child.
A family insider told the National Enquirer, "Becoming Mrs Freeman has been E'Dnea's goal.
"It's not technically incest, because they are not related by blood. Morgan is trying desperately to keep his divorce out of open court so all the shameful facts won't become public."
Another family member told the tabloid, "Morgan has led her to believe that he wants to marry her."

'£2bn bill' to cancel Eurofighters
The cost of cancelling the latest order of Eurofighter Typhoon jets could leave Britain facing a bill of more than £2 billion, it is reported.
A Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft takes to the sky over RAF Coningsby, Lincolnshire .Pulling out of Britain's commitment to buy a third tranche of the aircraft would also break maintenance and upgrade deals agreed in principle with the defence company BAE Systems, The Financial Times said.
The Ministry of Defence may also have to renegotiate arrangements to upgrade existing aircraft on unfavourable terms if it stops the latest order.
The Treasury and the Ministry of Defence are reportedly due to meet to discuss the cost implications of stopping the latest order.
Critics claim the third tranche is too costly and is not essential to defence requirements.
However, the other partner nations involved in the programme - Germany, Spain and Italy - would expect to be compensated for extra costs if Britain withdraws from the third production run.
Currently a memorandum of understanding sets the ceiling for compensation and fines at £2 billion.
But there are fears the total cost could be much higher if Britain cancels, with claims from industry expected to run into hundreds of millions and jobs put at risk.
An MoD spokesman said talks with partner nations over the future of the programme were continuing.
He said: "Ministers of the Eurofighter Typhoon Partner Nations met on April 2 to discuss the arrangements for the procurement of Tranche 3 aircraft. Good progress was made, however, further discussion will be required before all nations are able to make an announcement on the way ahead."

Drugs when will society be honest and truly start to stop the Trade! or is the money too good for those that have influence !!
St George's professor leads call for action on drug trafficking
The price of cocaine is set to plunge further as traffickers exploit new smuggling routes, warned an international drugs body headed up by St George’s, University of London’s Professor Hamid Ghodse.
The International Narcotics Board (INCB) said cocaine prices would continue to fall unless action was taken to block supply routes through West Africa and Eastern Europe.
South American drug producers are switching supplies from the Caribbean and North Atlantic to avoid Royal Navy and US authorities, its annual report found.
Stockpiles of the drug are building up in West Africa, from where it is shipped to the UK and the rest of Europe either directly or via the Balkans.
Professor Hamid Ghodse, President of the INCB and Director of St George’s International Centre for Drug Policy, said: “Prices are likely to fall providing the governments don’t step up their efforts to intercept supplies.
“The route of transporting for traffickers has become relatively easier.”
Ten years ago the price of cocaine was £80 a gramme, compared with about £20 for a cheap form today.
Traffickers are loading commercial flights with “large numbers” of drug mules swallowing as much as a kilogram of cocaine each, the report warns. This “shotgun approach” makes it more difficult for police and customs officials to spot every mule.
The report also highlights concerns over cannabis use. The UK tops the European league table of cannabis use by teenagers. Around 44% of 15 to 16-year-olds admit to taking the drug, compared to less than 10% in Norway.
“Over the years, cannabis has become more potent and is associated with an increasing number of emergency room admissions. It is often the first illicit drug that young people take and is frequently called a gateway drug,” explains Professor Ghodse. “In spite of all these facts, the use of cannabis is often trivialised,” he concludes.
But the authors highlight “significant” falls in cannabis use by that age group in England, by around 4% between 2001 and 2007. And they welcome the Government’s decision to reclassify cannabis to Class B because of fears over the impact of strong “skunk” strains on the mental health of young people.
British youngsters are also being targeted by illegal online pharmacies selling heroin substitutes, the report warns. The unlicensed pharmacies sell methadone, codeine, and other stimulants without prescription.
"The internet is a major problem," said Professor Ghodse. "That is why we (the INCB) started three years ago to have contact with Interpol (on the issue). There are illicit internet pharmacies and they do not have natural boundaries."
He said that there was evidence of such activity in the United States, Thailand, Australia and the UK but that it was difficult for law enforcement agencies to track down the perpetrators.

A 16-year-old boy is fighting for his life after being assaulted by a gang of fellow teenagers in Blagdon Park, New Malden.
The victim was rushed to accident and emergency at Kingston Hospital after the attack at 7.30pm last night left him with life threatening head injuries.
He has since been transferred to Atkinson Morley Hospital in central London for specialist treatment.
Police believe the eight-strong gang of black males, believed to be between 16 and 19 years old, escaped the scene on the 152 bus along Burlington Road, after initially making their way to the park from New Malden station.
Chief Inspector John Pendleton said: “This was a particularly nasty incident and thankfully a rare occurrence in Kingston.
“We urgently need to trace anyone that has any information on this investigation to insure that these offenders are brought to justice and that they are not free to commit any more crimes of this nature.”
Anyone with information about the incident can contact Kingston CID on 020 8247 4909, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Alpha Mum Speaks ! and the truth is ? both are right and both can be content with or with out kids!
Do kids spoil our happiness? It depends on what you mean by 'happy'
Kids won't make you happy, says Dr Nattavudh Powdthavee - research shows that parents are less happier than adults without children, and that includes not just the nappy-and-sleepless-nights phase, but also the coming-home-for-Christmas-with-their-families as well.
His analysis of the research, what it means, and why we continue have children in the face of it is intriguing. But I think in this instance research could have it wrong. Or could at least be tackling the subject from a skewed perspective of what happiness really is.
Too often these days we define happiness as the ultimate self-centred activity that is achieved via other self-centred activities. What makes us happy is treating ourselves to a spa day or a shopping spree or a holiday trekking in Indonesia. We find our perfect job and win an award and we're over the moon. We fall in love.
Rachel Cusk's terrific A Life's Work - possible the best book about motherhood, ever. She delves into all kinds of experiences in being a mother - not just the PR-led bits. She describes the anxiety and anger and guilt eloquently and meaningfully. It's made me revisit my motivations for becoming a mother and struggles with being one. It's called up memories when the first child is born, memories of my own childhood, engendered feelings that for the first time, one can understand parents more, both as childhood caretakers and also as people.
When people mention happiness these days you often get the sense it's something that can be achieved with a really good self-help book written by someone recommended by Oprah, or it's something conferred upon you once you attain a certain job or are profiled in Vanity Fair. These things can all be wonderful.

'BOTCHED' Forex Hedging leaves Foreign Office with £150M hole
This is a disgrace and we should know more. The report says the FO were listening to Treasury , Bank of England & Independent Advisers advice ? Please we can appreciate the first two being incompetent, but to hide behind a screen after fees and after probably running positions opposite! The public is owed a duty , by those responsible to shame and explain who were the so called Independents. As back in the 90's when the bank of England spent above 20 Billion to so call defend the Pound, others both Us and Uk banks chose to run positions the other way , to their fortune and the taxpayers detriment. There are too many constant examples of where those people responsible for Taxpayers funds, are treating them with less and less professional courtesy and this should be explainned more fully.
This Hedging smells , as the Source currency is British Pounds which up until last Summer was strong, so if we have commitments in other currencies , they should have been selling the Pound when it was high. It appears they were not just ignoring the basic hedge , but playing rather than working with the numbers.
Probably you will not publish, as the facts that you have reported, miss much ! but in reality we need more not less investigation of these departments. Especially when they seek Independent advisers, and we do not what funds have been wasted or profits gained from the other side !

European Elections pending !!
Who should vote for what ?
As Europe is more concern with farmers than pensioners , what about something different 1 When Uk Government more concerned with bankers and their stability with taxpayers funds , what is really going on ?
Why should students pay for education then to be in serious debt 25,000.BP plus before they start to earn ?
Why in Europe it is FREE
Why should conservatives and others get away in Europe fiddling their expenses when they already are well looked after , not like here for the pensioners and those unemployed !!
Who is going to control, and attempt to STOP the waste ! and share some of these funds fairly?? !!

Anglo's Golden 4 out of 10
Named: four of Anglo’s ‘golden circle’
Gerry Gannon, Joe O’Reilly, Seamus Ross and Jerry Conlan are four of the businessmen who secretly bought 10% of Anglo Irish Bank with the bank’s own cash

The businessmen who bought 10% of Anglo Irish Bank last summer, using funds supplied by the bank, include the co-owner of the K Club and the builder behind the Dundrum Shopping Centre. The “golden circle” also includes the country’s biggest housebuilder and the founder of a private hospital group.
Four of the 10-strong group of investors assembled by David Drumm, Anglo Irish’s former chief executive, are: Gerry Gannon, Joe O’Reilly, Seamus Ross and Jerry Conlan. Either they or some of their companies now owe several billion to Anglo. All four declined to comment last week.
Gannon co-owns the K Club, which hosted the 2006 Ryder Cup, with Michael Smurfit. He is the founder of Gannon Homes and owns a large amount of land in north and south Dublin.
O’Reilly is best known for developing the €1 billion Dundrum Shopping Centre. His company, Castlethorn, plans to build a €1.2 billion new town in Adamstown, west Dublin. He also plans a mixed-use development on O’Connell Street in Dublin.
Longford-born Ross runs Menolly Homes, the country’s biggest housebuilder. He owns Dunboyne Castle in Co Meath and recently ended a dispute over profits made on the development of houses in the K Club. He lost millions when the International Securities Trading Corporation (ISTC), a finance company set up by Tiernan O’Mahony, a former Anglo executive, came close to collapsing.
Conlan is the least well-known of the four. He sold 400 acres of land he co-owned in Naas, Co Kildare, known as Millennium Park, for €340m. He used much of the proceeds to found the Mount Carmel Medical Group which owns a maternity hospital in Rathfarnham, south Dublin. Mount Carmel has been appointed by the Health Service Executive to build private hospitals on the grounds of public hospitals as part of the co-location strategy.
The Sunday Times has been able to ascertain that the following businessmen, some of whom have had dealings with Anglo, are not among the 10 investors: Sean Mulryan, Patrick Doherty, Sean Dunne, Derek Quinlan, Denis O’Brien, JP McManus, John Magnier, Noel Smyth, Michael Whelan, Jim Mansfield, Richard Barrett, Johnny Ronan and Fintan Drury.
Patrick Kearney, a founder of PBN Property in Belfast, did not return repeated calls made last week. He was variously “in a meeting”, “in another meeting” and then “flying to Gibraltar”. Kearney is Anglo’s largest client in Northern Ireland and a close friend of Drumm. His business partner, Neil Adair, established Anglo’s Belfast branch.
John McCabe, the founder of McCabe Builders, also refused to comment last week. He was said to be “out of the office”, then “not at home” and finally The Sunday Times was told “he will call you back if he wants to”.
McCabe is an important Anglo client who lives on a stud farm in Meath formerly owned by Charles Haughey, the late taoiseach.
Last week Ulick McEvaddy, a well-known business figure, described the “Anglo 10” as “heroes” who were prepared to put themselves at risk to support the bank.
One banking source said: “Sure, they were patriotic, but if your bank asks you for a favour [in these market conditions] you do it.”
In total, Anglo Irish Bank lent €451m to a group it has described as “10 long-standing clients”, to buy 10% of the bank. The shares are believed to have been acquired through nominee companies.
The transaction was agreed to prevent the stake acquired through contracts for difference (CFDs) by businessman Sean Quinn coming to the market last summer. It was feared that this would result in a sharp fall in Anglo’s share price.
Three-quarters of the loans were secured against the shares themselves, with the remaining 25% secured on the participants’ “personal assets”.
The bank admits it is likely to have to write off €300m of the money it loaned the 10 investors. Because Anglo has since been nationalised, this loss now passes to the Irish taxpayer.
The Financial Regulator has “categorically” denied knowing the terms of the deal or the identity of the investors beforehand.
It said it knew “steps” to unwind the Quinn shareholding were being put in place, but has not explained why it did not seek further information on the final structure of the deal.
The emergence of four of the 10 names will put further pressure on the government to disclose the others.
Brian Cowen, the taoiseach, said last week that his advice from the attorney general was that he could not disclose the names.
Donal O’Connor, the Anglo chairman, said last week it “would be wrong for the bank to refer to any transactions or dealings with any specific customer of the bank”.
Eamon Gilmore, the Labour party leader, yesterday called on the government to appoint a High Court inspector to investigate various activities at Anglo.

Dublin needs a change of Government -
Two by-elections coming up. One in South Dublin, and the other in Dublin Central. d Shane Ross in the Seanad would be the start of improvement. Or maybe if Shane Ross got into the Dail as well.
With the Dail on knife-edge, they would be able to have a lot of influence. Cowen has to pick an EU Commisioner - and he is mulling over whether to pick Dempsey or Harney. Harney's superbowl splurge will make her ideal for even bigger junkets - though will also scupper her chances. So that leaves Dempsey vacating a seat in a constituency with officially the highest unemployment rate in the country thanks to the collapse of the building boom. Shane Ross could take Dublin South.
Who else should stand ? Bono ? better than touring ? and no seat yet free at the Vatican !

ExxonMobil obscene 45 Billion profit and all the kaos caused globally
Dear Readers ,
Enough is enough with first the bankinbg mafia !! now the Oil groups reaping at the expense of the public!! Huge!!
Why with so much talk about the world in such a great hole created by excess etc that we allow the Oil companies liek Exxon Mobil announce record profits from Houston at 45 Billion plus ( remember these are the declared figures so through hedging and what they knew re Bush and the White House secret Oil policy, ( as that policy and documents have been made classified and stay in his library for 30 years !) has earn't them amazing returns. Last year it was just 40 Billion
Should not these selective Oil groups that are caught up in the excess, whether it is Hedgers blew out of the water or small companies in the business or not who have sank- whilst a small clan have reaped many many Billions - probably Trillions.
Well it is not the first time that the Oil 7 have been rumoured to work the price- but now with the kaos economically- should not Obama tax them backdated to assist a remedy, for the present problems which are partly whatever your economic school , related to extreme OIl prices that lasted over 15 months.

Bush
His term was bookended by two of the most momentous crises to hit the country: 9/11 and the financial crisis that began in 2007. He’s certainly left his mark in Iraq, in the ozone layer, on Wall Street. He inherited a budget surplus of $128 billion in 2001. The forecast for 2009 is a $482 billion deficit. That takes some doing
