Political awareness, awakeness; gradually dumbing us & drowning emotions to the floor; numbing & feeling senseless.

A 16-year-old boy is fighting for his life after being assaulted by a gang of fellow teenagers in Blagdon Park, New Malden.
The victim was rushed to accident and emergency at Kingston Hospital after the attack at 7.30pm last night left him with life threatening head injuries.
He has since been transferred to Atkinson Morley Hospital in central London for specialist treatment.
Police believe the eight-strong gang of black males, believed to be between 16 and 19 years old, escaped the scene on the 152 bus along Burlington Road, after initially making their way to the park from New Malden station.
Chief Inspector John Pendleton said: “This was a particularly nasty incident and thankfully a rare occurrence in Kingston.
“We urgently need to trace anyone that has any information on this investigation to insure that these offenders are brought to justice and that they are not free to commit any more crimes of this nature.”
Anyone with information about the incident can contact Kingston CID on 020 8247 4909, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Alpha Mum Speaks ! and the truth is ? both are right and both can be content with or with out kids!
Do kids spoil our happiness? It depends on what you mean by 'happy'
Kids won't make you happy, says Dr Nattavudh Powdthavee - research shows that parents are less happier than adults without children, and that includes not just the nappy-and-sleepless-nights phase, but also the coming-home-for-Christmas-with-their-families as well.
His analysis of the research, what it means, and why we continue have children in the face of it is intriguing. But I think in this instance research could have it wrong. Or could at least be tackling the subject from a skewed perspective of what happiness really is.
Too often these days we define happiness as the ultimate self-centred activity that is achieved via other self-centred activities. What makes us happy is treating ourselves to a spa day or a shopping spree or a holiday trekking in Indonesia. We find our perfect job and win an award and we're over the moon. We fall in love.
Rachel Cusk's terrific A Life's Work - possible the best book about motherhood, ever. She delves into all kinds of experiences in being a mother - not just the PR-led bits. She describes the anxiety and anger and guilt eloquently and meaningfully. It's made me revisit my motivations for becoming a mother and struggles with being one. It's called up memories when the first child is born, memories of my own childhood, engendered feelings that for the first time, one can understand parents more, both as childhood caretakers and also as people.
When people mention happiness these days you often get the sense it's something that can be achieved with a really good self-help book written by someone recommended by Oprah, or it's something conferred upon you once you attain a certain job or are profiled in Vanity Fair. These things can all be wonderful.

'BOTCHED' Forex Hedging leaves Foreign Office with £150M hole
This is a disgrace and we should know more. The report says the FO were listening to Treasury , Bank of England & Independent Advisers advice ? Please we can appreciate the first two being incompetent, but to hide behind a screen after fees and after probably running positions opposite! The public is owed a duty , by those responsible to shame and explain who were the so called Independents. As back in the 90's when the bank of England spent above 20 Billion to so call defend the Pound, others both Us and Uk banks chose to run positions the other way , to their fortune and the taxpayers detriment. There are too many constant examples of where those people responsible for Taxpayers funds, are treating them with less and less professional courtesy and this should be explainned more fully.
This Hedging smells , as the Source currency is British Pounds which up until last Summer was strong, so if we have commitments in other currencies , they should have been selling the Pound when it was high. It appears they were not just ignoring the basic hedge , but playing rather than working with the numbers.
Probably you will not publish, as the facts that you have reported, miss much ! but in reality we need more not less investigation of these departments. Especially when they seek Independent advisers, and we do not what funds have been wasted or profits gained from the other side !

What next ! if these sadistic Police wish to beat up, and kill members of the public , why not go to Afghanistan or Iraq where such behaviour goes unnoticed !

PLEASE PLEASE KICK him and other of his friends out now , thugs in uniform , and no place for a supposed civilised society !

Peer Steinbrueck, should sack the Commerzbank AG Board completely.
Do not waste time , trying to in this market to sell the property division etc , which the present board foolishly , paid high in 2006!
Please wake up and realise Change is required at Commerzbank and Alliance should be pushing for real internal change and real new outside input of quality!
Now to waste more Billions , so to go to the State to collect more Billions is all madness!
