If you inform Americans that more than 3 million Vietnamese were killed by the American bombing campaign of North Vietnam and neighboring Cambodia and Laos (probably more like 4 million), nearly 90% of Americans will deny such a reality.
If you inform the average American that more than 1 million innocent Iraqis have died during the American invasion of Iraq (according to several reputable studies including one by the Lancet), nearly 90% will deny such a reality.
If you inform the average Brit that untold millions of nameless innocents died and even more suffered as a result of British colonialism, 90% will respond that it was all for the good of civilization (the white man's burden and all of that).
What is difference between such deniers and Holocaust deniers? The difference is. Germany and its allies have largely recognized the historical reality of the evil that they perpetrated on the rest of the world, and are in no danger or revisiting such evil on the rest of us.
The US and the UK continue to repeat again and again the evils of the past, continue to justify such evils in the name of some sort of global progress (civilizing the world, liberating the world, eliminating the terrorists
we have many dubious political activists out there! and a low calibre , as far as knowing their history!!
